“The ergonomic assessments conducted by Humanscale’s ergonomist were transformative for our workplace. The consultant’s expertise helped us identify risks we hadn’t considered and provided practical solutions to improve employee comfort and productivity. What impressed me most was how the recommendations were tailored to each individual’s needs while aligning with our company’s broader wellness goals. For us, it’s not just about compliance—it’s about creating a healthier, happier workforce, and Humanscale made that possible.”

Onsite/Virtual Ergonomics Assessments
Employees experiencing elevated levels of discomfort or pain can benefit from Humanscale Consulting's Onsite/Virtual Assessment Program, which leverages our proprietary web-based assessment and training tool in conjunction with video conferencing.
Detailed assessment reports include a complete postural analysis, comprehensive equipment review and a detailed improvement strategy.
Two levels of assessment are currently offered based on the severity of the employee's discomfort level. A virtual Post Assessment Check-Up can be added to either assessment level.
- Online scheduling and appointment management reduces administrative loading
- Detailed report of risk factors and recommendations for further improvement
- Post Assessment Check-Ups can be added to any assessment level

Level I
A two page standardised checklist is completed for each employee that provides a summary of observed postural risk factors, an assessment of currently installed workstation tools and an improvement strategy. Level I assessments are most appropriate for employees experiencing mild levels of discomfort.
Level II
A comprehensive written report is completes for each employee that includes an analysis of current discomfort levels, explanations of all potential postural risk and related sources of discomfort. Our ergonomists conduct a thorough evaluation of all workstation tools and provide employees with detailed improvement strategy. Level II assessments are best suited for employees experiencing moderate to severe levels of discomfort.
Virtual Post Assessment Check-Up
Optional post assessments can be completed for both Level I and Level II assessments and typically occur 4-6 weeks following the initial assessment. An online post assessment survey is administered to reassess employee discomfort levels and to gauge effectiveness of the implemented changes. Our ergonomists then reengage wh the employee virtually to address any remaining areas of concern. A final report is generated which compares pre and post discomfort data, provides recommendations for further improvement and summarises employee feedback.

Clean Sweep Training & Assessment Program
Our 'Clean Sweep' Training and Assessment Program combines ergonomics training sessions with individualised workstation assessments. This approach is the most cost-effective means of improving employee awareness of ergonomics while maximising worker comfort and reducing injury risks. Three versions of the program are offered.

Office Ergonomics 101: Working Pain & Risk Free
All levels of our 'Clean Sweep' program include sessions of our Office Ergonomics 101 training program, an interactive one-hour course aimed at raising ergonomic awareness among employees. Participants are trained on key ergonomics concepts and then shown how to properly configure their workstations for optimal health, comfort, and performance. Attendees will learn how to properly adjust their task chairs and position their keyboard and mouse to minimise the risk of developing discomfort. Guidelines for proper monitor and document placement are also discussed.
Learning Objectives
- Elevate awareness of key ergonomic concepts and adjustment guidelines
- Understand the long-term implications of a poor workstation setup
- Identify and correct awkward postures
- Learn how to properly configure any workstation for optimal health and comfort
Basic Program
In this program, organisations can choose between formal sessions of ergonomics training or informal 'gather-round' style training. Following the session, our consultants conduct an ergonomic assessment of each employee's workstation, and adjustments are made to the existing equipment to improve comfort and to mitigate postural risks -- each assessment is 5-10 minutes per person. A meeting is held at the end of the assessment period to discuss site trends and improvement strategies.
Standard Program
Our standard program expands to include documentation and data analysis of all individual workstation assessments. A one-page checklist is completed for each employee that records discomfort information, postural risk factors, and existing equipment challenges. We then utilise our proprietary software tool to produce a comprehensive deliverable summarising overall site trends and recommended follow-up steps for each employee. Workstation assessments require approximately 15 minutes per employee. In a full business day, each ergonomist is typically able to train and assess 20-25 employee workstations.
Advanced Program
Our advanced program extends our standard offering to include full program implementation. We use a robust online pre-assessment survey to collect tasks and discomfort data. Following employee assessments, we make an additional site visit to assist with the implementation of any required workstation changes. Our team administers a post-assessment survey 4-6 weeks after the initial intervention, followed by a complete pre and post discomfort analysis for each employee. We then create a final report that gauges the effectiveness of the overall program.

DSE Workstation Assessments
Humanscale's team of experienced DSE Assessors specialises in conducting in-person and virtual DSE Workstation Assessments required to comply with the Display Screen Equipment (DSE) regulations set by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
More Info
We offer two levels of DSE assessment service depending on the current needs of your organisation. Both service offerings can be conducted in-person or virtually throughout the U.K. and Ireland.
- Our experienced team of DSE Assessors will complete the government issued DSE checklist for each employee to ensure compliance with existing DSE regulations. Recommendations and improvement strategies will be annotated throughout the checklist. The DSE Assessor will provide each employee with ergonomics training and adjustment guidance. The total time commitment including reporting is one hour. This level of service is an ideal first step towards meeting DSE compliance for new hires and employees reporting pain or discomfort.
- In situations where DSE compliance has already been met but employees require additional assistance, our DSE assessors are available to conduct thorough Workstation Assessments. Rather than complete the DSE checklist, a one-page report with practical recommendations for improving posture and overall comfort will be provided. The total time commitment including reporting is 45 minutes.
